Today, March 12th, is National Baked Scallops Day! A day to celebrate the delicate and delicious flavor of baked scallops. Whether you enjoy them with butter, garlic, or a squeeze of lemon, it’s a perfect day to savor this seafood delight. So, head to your favorite seafood restaurant or try your hand at baking them at home. It’s a tasty treat that’s sure to please! Did you know that scallops can swim by clapping their shells together? Talk about a speedy snack! (Source: NationalDayCalendar.com)

On March 12th, 1912, Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts of the USA in Savannah, Georgia. This organization has empowered millions of girls to develop leadership skills, learn new things, and make a positive impact on their communities. Low gathered 18 girls for the first meeting, and the organization has grown into a global movement. This is a day to celebrate the incredible impact that the Girl Scouts have had on generations of young women. (Source: OnThisDay.com, Girl Scouts of the USA historical records)

And now for our Have YOU heard feature of the day! Did you know that someone once tried to patent a machine designed to automatically comb a cat’s fur? Yes, a robotic groomer for your purr-fect pal! Imagine a contraption with rotating brushes and gentle suction, all designed to keep your kitty’s coat sleek and shiny. While this particular invention might not have revolutionized pet care, it certainly highlights the lengths people go to for their furry friends!
